Over the Odor
Dr. Lisa Masterson's blog from "The Doctors"

Do you ever have that not-so-fresh feeling down
below?
“Douching, I’ve always said, bad, bad, bad, bad,
bad,” Dr. Lisa says, “because the vagina is a self-
cleaning oven and has a normal vaginal acidic
pH that keeps the bacteria away and yeast away.
All of us women are worried about odors down
there, and that’s very, very real. We want to smell
fresh. Every woman thinks it’s supposed to have
this perfumey odor, when, in fact, it really
shouldn’t smell like anything.”
Foul odor in the vaginal area is often due to an
infection, Dr. Berman explains. Keeping the area
clean by washing with soap and water daily is
essential, but hygiene is not always enough.

Experience the true meaning of
FEMININE HEALTH with Yefense!
One out of 3 out of 4 women suffers with vaginal
infections.  Some of us don’t like to admit it, because
of the “nasty” opinions others put on us; it’s really
not that serious and it’s completely natural.  Vaginal
infections are apart of our lives, due to stress,
illness, diet, hormones, prescription drugs,
antibiotics, sex,douching, pregnancy, and many
other reasons that our bodies just don’t agree with
that can cause a down-there problem.  Even if you’
re the most hygienic person, an infection can still
find away into you, down-there.

Here’s what happens, our vagina has a healthy
balance of both good and bad bacteria.  But then,
our body uses one of the mentioned causes above
to lower our immunity and allow “bad” bacteria to
overpower the good causing an imbalance in the
vagina or even growth of a fungus from yeast.

There you go, a vaginal infection. Now it’s more to it
than that, but that is the bottom line of what
happens.  Whether you have a bacterial infection or
a yeast infection depends on what the cause is.
The bacteria vaginosis could come from you having
sex or douching, by you washing away all the “good”
bacteria causing an imbalance.  Or it could be a
yeast infection from your hormones being out of
whack, which lessens the acidity of your vagina
causing another type of imbalance.

But no matter which type of infection you get, the
fact is your body can’t fight a battle without an army.
Your army is the “good” bacteria.  So what you want
to do is make sure that your body builds up that
resistance to not allow your period or your diet to
overwhelm and weaken your immune system leaving
you open to illness and infections.
